The hiring manager does not want any specific answers but they want to test if you have understood the core requirement. Employers in every organization are looking for dynamic and smart employees who can handle the situations quite intelligently. The following are the common IQ job interview questions.

Few Common IQ Related Job Interview Questions

IQ Job Interview Questions

The presence of mind is what is required in many jobs nowadays even if you are a teacher or a marketing manager. So, IQ job interview questions must be handled properly even if you have to ask for time to answer them. Interestingly, you are just checked for your wits. So, let us see a few Common IQ related questions.

1. What number of tennis balls can you fit into a Sports Car?

This is a brain teaser question mostly asked to check if you have understood the Intelligent Quotient behind the question. The recruiter does not want an exact number. But yes you can wittingly ask for a pen and a paper for a quick round of Math.

2. How can you sell me this notepad?

The hiring manager interviewing you for a sales job may ask you to sell him anything that is placed on his/her table. It can be a notepad, a pen or a pencil. They are testing you for a real-life situation, so you need to stay calm and show them your sales skill-set. Feel calm and composed, show confidence, keep eye contact, and start telling the features and uses by understanding your customer needs too.

3. Tell me the months that have 28 days?

Again a brain-teaser question but asked to test your presence of mind. It also checks how active you remain in the present situation. Like, the answer here is all the months in a year have 28 months and not only February since it has 28 days or sometimes 29 days. So, understand the IQ-based question before giving a spontaneous answer just to get stares in the interviewing room. Here you can find many other Logical Reasoning questions and solutions.

4. Which animal you want to be and why?

This type of IQ-based question is asked to check your personality as if you are soft, bold, courageous, timid, etc. You can choose any of the animals as there is no wrong answer. But, it is wise to pick one smartly through which you can showcase your strengths and personality traits in the best way. You can cleverly ask for the thinking time or say ‘Well, this is a nice question, and I would like to be……’ and state your answer with the above tips.

5. Are you lazy and incompetent?

Employers want to employ smart and competent employees so intelligently solve this IQ question. The reply to this is “I am active and clever” and say with a smile.

6. Brain Teaser- If you had only one match and you enter a cold and dark room. What would you light first- an oil lamp, an oil heater, or a candle?

The IQ questions sometimes involve a mix of verbal and non-verbal questions too. The answer to this question is you will light the match first while entering the dark and cold room. Then you can light something else.

7. What are your charges for washing all the windows in New York?

8. Why is a manhole cover round?

Use your brain smartly to answer this question as this has been asked in Google and Microsoft interviews too. The answer is manhole covers are round because they cannot fall themselves or even accidentally down the hole too.

10. What would you like to have for dinner this evening?

Never answer this question with 'whatever you like', 'you can order whatever you want', 'I am comfortable with your order', and so on. 11. Mention the weight of the Empire State Building?

This question is asked to check a near correct estimate of the candidate and to see if the one they are hiring has a calculative mind. If you are good with numbers, you can go ahead with some tricky calculations. Well, the answer is nearly 750,000 tons considering its weight, width, and height of a single floor, etc.

12. Brain Teaser- What do you have when you take 2 apples from 3 apples?
