#### Question No 1

What is the angle between the hands of a clock at 3:35 pm?

Solution!
At 3:35 hour hand is nearly at 3
Minute hand is at 7

Angle between 3 and 7 is 120 degree.

Hour hand move 1/2 degree in one minute.

In 35 Minutes hour hand will move 1/2 * 35 = 17.5 degree

Hence, Angle between hands is 120 - 17.5 = 102.5 degree.

#### Question No 2

Which number is the odd one out, 8, 27, 64, 100, 125, 216, 343

Solution!
All others are perfect cube of any number but 100 is not the perfect cube of any number..

#### Question No 3

A train 108 m long moving at a speed of 50 km/hr crosses a train 112 m long coming from opposite direction in 6 seconds. The speed of the second train is

Solution!
Let the speed of the second train be x km/hr.

Relative speed = (x + 50) km/hr
= (x+50)*(5/18) m/s
= (250+5x)18 m/s

Distance covered = (108 + 112) = 220 m

So, 220/[(250 + 5x) /18] = 6
250 + 5x = 660

Hence, x = 82 km/hr.

#### Question No 4

Solution!
All except Veil cover the head, while veil covers the face..

#### Question No 5

The sum of the ages of two children is 12 and their product is 32. The age of elder one is

Solution!
Let age of younger child is x and age of elder child is y.

Given that
x+y = 12 ...(1)

and
xy = 32
x = 32/y

Put value of x in equation(1)
(32/y)+y = 12
32+(y^2) = 12y
(y^2)-12y+32 = 0
(y^2)-8y-4y+32 = 0
y(y-8)+4(y-8) = 0
(y-8)(y+4) = 0
y = -4 (impossible)
or
y = 8

Hence age of elder child is 8 years..

#### Question No 6

So, The year 800 is a leap year..

#### Question No 10

If 6th March, 2005 is Monday, what was the day of the week on 6th March, 2004?

Solution!
The year 2004 is a leap year. So, it has 2 odd days.

But, Feb 2004 not included because we are calculating from March 2004 to March 2005. So it has 1 odd day only.

So, the day on 6th March, 2005 will be 1 day beyond the day on 6th March, 2004.

Given that, 6th March, 2005 is Monday.

Hence 6th March, 2004 is Sunday..

A boat travels at the speed of 25 km/h upstream and 35 km/h downstream. Find the speed of water.

Solution!
Upstream speed = y = 25 Km/h
Downstream speed = x = 35 Km/h
Speed of water = (1/2)*(x-y)
= (1/2)*(35-35) = 5 Km/h.

#### Question No 15

What is the length of a bridge if a train of length 550 meters travelling at the speed of 20m/s can cross it in 35 seconds?

Solution!
Length of train = L1 = 550m
Speed = v = 20m/s
Time = t = 35s
Length of bridge = L2 = ?

t = (L1+L2)/v
By putting values
35 = (550+L2)/20
700 - 550 = L2
L2 = 150m

Hence length of bridge is 150 meter..
